Why Quick Couplers Matter in Alaska

On a Lower 48 jobsite, swapping attachments is an inconvenience. In Alaska, it can shut down production. When you are running a short construction season and every hour of daylight counts, the time it takes to disconnect hydraulic lines, swap a bucket for a compactor, and reconnect everything adds up fast. Standard flat-face quick couplers require the operator to leave the cab, manually connect each hydraulic line, and verify flow direction. Reliability in Cold Weather

This is where the results were predictable but still worth documenting. Standard flat-face couplers are prone to contamination. Every time you disconnect a line, dirt and moisture can enter the hydraulic system. In Alaska, that moisture freezes. We see hydraulic contamination issues on standard coupler machines at roughly triple the rate of EC-Oil equipped machines.

The EC-Oil system keeps the hydraulic circuits sealed during the swap. There is no exposed port, no open line, no opportunity for contamination. Every operator we surveyed rated the EC-Oil system higher on reliability, and our service records confirm it. Fewer hydraulic flushes, fewer valve replacements, fewer unplanned service calls.

The Investment Question
